Interdependence Day, July 5, 4:00-11:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's church, 18th & Aloha on Capitol Hill. Speakers, workshops, music, food, info tables, fellowship! $5 donation requested (additional cost for food will be approximately $7).

Interdependence Day is a festival aimed at bringing people together to talk and learn and brainstorm ideas for constructive action in the future. It will feature two keynote speakers, Cecile Andrews (author of Circle of Simplicity) and Dustin Washington of American Friends Service Committee. We will have five workshops featuring panels of presenters and extra time for generating ideas from the group. The workshops are "Reclaiming Our Elections" "Undoing Institutional Racism Everywhere" "Globalization or Localization" "Living Simply" and "Working for REAL Homeland Security" We hope that, at the end of the day, participants will be inspired, and more, that we will have new direction and planned actions to move forward with.

But it's not all work! Interdependence Day will also feature performances by stellar local musicians including Jim Page, Erin Corday, Grace Hearn and Michael Savage, Cyphalliance, Reggie Garrett, Otha Major, and jimvick.combo. For those who crave information, there will be dozens of tables hosted by local activist groups whose issues range from politics to the environment to alternative fuel. For those who crave food in a festive atmosphere, barbecue-style food will be catered by Farestart.

More information will be posted as it becomes available at www.seattlethunder.net. Keep checking back up until the day of the event!

Those who wish to participate with a table or exhibit should contact Kendra Williams at kendra@seattlethunder.net or Chris Raver at mrsunderhill@earthlink.net. This is the third in an ongoing series of events, so if you are too late for this one you are welcome to participate in a future event.
