If the spirit of goodness which is innate is addressed properly there is a path for change from within. In an age in which compassion and heroism (valor) are divorced, nonviolence is both.

Compassion divorced from valor feeds cowardice, while valor divorced from compassion feeds cruelty. Nonviolence is the symbiosis of compassion and valor and creates fearlessness.

Mr. Vora helped Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) launch a peacekeeping project in late 2003 in Sri Lanka where more than 64,000 people have been killed and 1.6 million displaced in the civil war that has ravaged this country since 1983.

The NP Sri Lanka Team has grown to 30 members who have been recognized for their work in applying proven nonviolent strategies to reduce violence in four villages.
