“Show me the cause of death.
Is it the dagger
or the lie?”
-- Mahmoud Darwish

Subtitled “Reclaim Remembrance of the Day”, SLEEPWALKING APOCALYPSE: 9/11 will challenge the officially sanctioned memories of 9/11/01, and will bring to memory the living, the dead and the still dying. The performance will combine new themes, images and texts with some elements of the popular “Sleepwalking Apocalypse” production earlier this year at the Art of Resistance Conference in Seattle.

Over twenty local artists will participate in the event, including musicians Jay Hamilton and Janet Stecher, dancer Delilah Flynn, and actors Meg Savlov and Rob Burgess. The show is scripted and directed by Seattle playwright Edward Mast in collaboration with The Theater Squad, creators of the earlier version of SLEEPWALKING APOCALYPSE as well as last year's SHADOWS OF EXILE.

SLEEPWALKING APOCALYPSE: 9/11 will begin at 2:00 PM at Greenlake Park, near the corner of 63rd St and East Greenlake Way North. The event will last approximately one hour, and will take place entirely outdoors, rain or shine. Audience members are advised to dress accordingly. Admission is free; arrive early.
