PREVENTIVE WARRIORS (52 minutes, 2004, Michael Burns)
The National Security Strategy (NSS) released by the White House in September 2002 lays out a plan for preventive warfare in which the US Government reserves the right to attack any nation that aspires to what the Government perceives to be a potential military rival or threat.
Preventive Warriors is a very timely documentary that takes an in-depth look at this – its goals, origins and potential consequences. Interviews with academics, commentators and policy shapers including Chalmers Johnson, Noam Chomsky, Phil Donahue, Phyliss Bennis, Tariq Ali and others. Music by Chumbawamba.
Presentation by Carol Isaac and Mark Jensen. Much of the discussion will focus on the document Rebuilding America's Defenses: Strategy, Forces and Resources for a New Century by the Washington-based think tank, The Project For the New American Century (PNAC), and the fundamental essence of the Administration's current foreign policy strategy.

Volunteer for Vote for a Change
Why Vote for a Change? Because US Census data confirms that voter registration and participation rates decline dramatically and consistently as household incomes decline. Our efforts are focused in areas of South King County, specifically Auburn and Kent, where there are the highest numbers of people living on the lowest of incomes. In these areas, we go door to door at the neighborhood level to register voters, committing people to vote by signing a petition, and encouraging new voters to stay engaged and involved in the democratic process. Join us on the last 2 Saturdays to register voters door-to-door!
