Filipina Immigrant Activist and Author to Preach and Book Sign at a Seattle Church
SEATTLE--Sister Florchita Bautista, author of the book “Leaping in to the Unknown” will preach at 10:30 in the morning at the University Baptist University (UBC) on Sunday, on issues of guest worker program, domestic helpers and forced migration of Filipinas and their families in Canada and the United States. She will book sign during lunch followed by a film showing and discussion of “When Strangers Re-unite,” which she co-directed in 1990 at the time of her active organizing of Filipina domestic helpers who came to Canada as part of the Live-in Caregiver Program (LCP).
