Remembering the Exxon Valdez: 20 Years Later, What Have We Learned?
Photojournalist Natalie Fobes and Cordova author-activist Dr. Riki Ott will be featured in a special memorial of the big spill’s 20th anniversary. Fobes was one of the first photographers on the scene of the Exxon Valdez oil spill, while under contract for National Geographic. Ott, a marine toxicologist, was working as an Alaska "fisher ma'am" when the spill occurred, and has since been working to decrease our dependence on oil.  more...
