PREVENTIVE WARRIORS (52 minutes, 2004, Michael Burns) The National Security Strategy (NSS) released by the White House in September 2002 lays out a plan for preventive warfare in which the US Government reserves the right to attack any nation that aspires to what the Government perceives to be a potential military rival or threat. Preventive Warriors is a very timely documentary that takes an in-depth look at this – its goals, origins and potential consequences. Interviews with academics, commentators and policy shapers including Chalmers Johnson, Noam Chomsky, Phil Donahue, Phyliss Bennis, Tariq Ali and others. Music by Chumbawamba. Presentation by Carol Isaac and Mark Jensen. Much of the discussion will focus on the document Rebuilding America's Defenses: Strategy, Forces and Resources for a New Century by the Washington-based think tank, The Project For the New American Century (PNAC), and the fundamental essence of the Administration's current foreign policy strategy.
